We know that coming into hospital can often be upsetting for children and their parents. To help make your child’s experience as stress free as possible, we have a special clinic just for children in our Dermatology Outpatient Department.
Our department is child friendly and we have a highly skilled team of Paediatric Dermatology Nurse Specialists and a Nursery Nurse to offer distraction.
Most of our patients are referred to us by GPs, but we also see patients from other hospitals across the region.
Specialist nurse led clinics
We offer a range of services within our clinics specifically for children and young people. These include chronic skin disease management and blood monitoring:
Children and young people clinics
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8.30am – 5pm.
These take place as either virtual or face to face clinics.
Evening clinic
Monday 4.30 – 7pm
Consultant-led children’s dermatology clinic
Monday 9am – 10.30am
Wednesday 9am – 4.30pm
Friday 9am – 10.30am

Play Facilities
We are doing everything we can to keep appointments on time so that you are not in the hospital for any longer than you need to be.
However, we know how important it is to keep children and young people occupied if you do need to wait a short time.
Our paediatric waiting area has:
- TV
- toys
- colouring paper, pens and crafts
- game consoles on request
Please note the play area is not supervised.
