Dr Siobhan Muthiah is a consultant dermatologist at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary. She graduated from Newcastle University in 2010 and completed higher specialist training in dermatology in the North East, gaining entry to the specialist register in 2018.
Dr Muthiah has a specialist interest in skin cancer, dermoscopy and digital triage of melanocytic and non-melanocytic skin lesions.
She was awarded an MD from Newcastle University for her thesis titled “Genetic analysis of multiple melanomas arising in mosaic and germline predisposition conditions.” Her melanoma research has been supported by awards from Melanoma Focus, the British Association of Dermatologists and the North-East Skin Research Fund.
She has published and presented nationally and internationally in areas including melanoma, genetic dermatology, photodermatology and dermatopathology, and has contributed to a book chapter in the Oxford Specialist Handbook of Paediatric Dermatology.
