We provide acute specialist care for our patients on five dedicated older people wards at both the Freeman Hospital and the Royal Victoria Infirmary:
In addition to consultants who specialise in older people’s medicine, these wards have dedicated nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists with additional support from speech and language therapists and social workers.
Patients are admitted to these wards following initial assessment in the Assessment Suite at the RVI, or following referral from other wards at either the Freeman Hospital or Royal Victoria Infirmary.
