Early use assessments
We offer rapid assessment of early-stage technologies based on clinical effectiveness and value for money, allowing patients and services to benefit sooner from promising technologies where the evidence base is still developing.
Routine use assessments
This work is focused on technologies with an established evidence base which may be ready for widespread adoption into the NHS:
Existing use assessments
This is a new process focussing on post-market assessment of technologies available to the NHS to ensure they still represent good value.
Regulatory documentation
We support NICE by identifying technologies which are indicated for a particular procedure. This involves liaising with the company, reviewing regulatory documentation – for example CE certificate, declaration of conformity and instruction for use – before summarising the findings.
There are currently no projects underway in this area.

Pilot projects
The Horizon Europe’s ASSESS DHT project aims to increase the adoption of trustworthy, effective digital health technologies through the development of robust, harmonised assessment methodologies. The team was commissioned to carry out a pilot assessment using the draft methodologies and give feedback.
