What will it involve?
Meeting with other people within our transplant service who may be having similar experiences to you, hearing some helpful information or just joining us for an informal chat. A Clinical Psychologist will be present to facilitate and to help answer any questions.
Who can join?
Anyone who is waiting for, or has had, a heart or lung transplant, or a VAD procedure via the Freeman Hospital is welcome to attend. Carers are also welcome to join.
Where is the café held?
In order to enable a wider range of people to attend, and host guest speakers, we hold most transplant cafés online. Twice a year, we hold these in person at the Freeman Hospital. You can see the schedule below.
The online café will be held via the NHS video platform ‘attend anywhere’.
The in-person café is held at the Freeman Hospital. When you register your interest, we will give you the specific location information.
How do I join?
Call or email the heart and lung transplant psychology team if you would like to be emailed the joining link for an online café or get directions to the in-person café. Contact details to do this are at the bottom of the page.
