What is a clinical psychologist?
Clinical psychologists have been trained to understand how people think, feel and behave. They support adults, children, young people, families, parents and carers who are experiencing distress in relation to a particular difficulty in their life.

Adult health psychology
This service is for adults experiencing psychological difficulties related to health issues.
Children’s health psychology
This service is for children experiencing psychological difficulties relates to health issues.
Neuropsychology for adults
This service is for adults affected by illness or injury to the body’s nervous system. This includes the brain, spinal cord and other nerves.
Neuropsychology for children
This service is for children to understand and treat the difficulties that are caused by neurological illness or injury.
Wellbeing classes
We also run a range of wellbeing classes where people can learn about how their physical and psychological wellbeing influence each other, and practice techniques or strategies to improve their quality of life.
We carry out a range of other work including research, supervising healthcare staff, and consultation to staff from healthcare and other agencies.
