- Physiotherapy for breathing pattern disorders is a unique area of physiotherapy, which is aimed at managing breathlessness and respiratory symptoms that are disproportionate to the physical task. This can often occur post infection for example post COVID, following ENT problems, in those with other respiratory conditions for example asthma and chronic respiratory problems or in young athletes.
- Management involves a thorough assessment and development of a tailored treatment plan to give the individual tools to manage their condition.
- Currently this clinic can only be accessed following referral into the Newcastle Upon Tyne tertiary respiratory service.
