Lovely staff that go out of their way to help. Professional relaxed environment. Very reassuring and went above what they had to.
Sometimes starting a family doesn’t happen as easily as we hope.
If you’re having difficulty conceiving, the first step is to speak with your GP, who can support and guide you.
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence recommends that if you’ve been trying for a year without success, you should be offered further assessment. You may be referred sooner if you have a condition affecting fertility, or are aged 36 or over.
Same-sex couples, single women and LGBTQ+ people can also access support through a GP referral. Your healthcare team is here to help you explore your options. The NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board website has more information on funding.
You can also find clear, independent information about fertility treatment on the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) website.
