Broken blood vessels can appear on the face and other parts of the body, most commonly the nose, chin or cheeks.
Laser treatment can be one of the most effective ways to reduce the appearance of unwanted facial vessels (which usually appear as a result of ageing, pregnancy, sun damage and Rosacea), spider naevi and port wine stains.
Visible vessels usually disappear after one or two treatments.
Laser treatment is the only treatment available for a port wine stain as it lightens the affected area of skin, reducing the appearance. Treatment of port wine stains often works better in younger children because in adults a port wine stain may become bumpy and raised after a number of years.
How does laser blood vessel removal work?
The visible blood vessels are removed using light from a precision laser, which is absorbed by the blood and destroys the vessel, restoring the skin’s natural appearance.
A number of treatments may be required to improve the appearance of larger veins and smaller veins require single treatments.
Treatments are usually provided in 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the area and the number required will be discussed with you at your initial consultation.
