How can I be referred to the dental hospital?
In order to try and match our services to those patients who require specialist care your should first visit a high street dentist who can undertake an initial assessment and may also be able to provide appropriate treatment. You should be able to find an NHS dentist using www.nhs.uk
Should the dentist feel that a referral to a specialist is appropriate then they can do that. We would then make arrangements for you to be assessed and, if appropriate, treatment options can be discussed.
Can I have dental implants?
Implant based dental treatment is available in specific circumstances to NHS patients, our guidance regarding this is available here.
Your dentist would need to decide if a referral for assessment is clinically appropriate and they would need to make a referral before we would make arrangements to provide an assessment.
Can I have treatment with a dental student?
Patients seeking routine, less complex, restorative dentistry may be taken on by the undergraduate dental student programme. This is for teaching and training purposes. These treatment items change according to the educational needs of the dental students and cannot be guaranteed to be available.

Please note that if application forms are not available on line then we have sufficient numbers of patients to meet our current training needs.
Do I pay for treatment at the dental hospital?
For patients entitled to NHS care, the majority of treatments are free of charge. Charges do apply where cosmetic adjustments are provided and if retainers are lost or damaged. Normal prescription charges apply.
Can I have my teeth straightened on the NHS?
If your dentist or orthodontist feel that a referral to a specialist is appropriate, they can make a referral and we would make arrangements for you to be assessed. Such an assessment would allow us to discuss treatment options with you.
