Our next members’ event will focus on diabetes and technology. Join us for an afternoon focused on how technology is transforming the care provided to people living with type 1 diabetes.
In recent years there have been huge advances in the use of insulin pump systems and other technologies in the care of people with type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is a condition that requires a huge degree of self-management. New technologies are now improving health outcomes, and quality of life as well as reducing the burden that some people can experience living with this condition.
There have been notable improvements in blood sugar control for pregnant women and overall pregnancy outcomes for Type 1 diabetes, which is linked to greater adoption in the NHS of newer technologies. We will hear about the evidence base for this and how this is transforming the care we provide.
This event will bring together trust members and governors with the multidisciplinary teams leading the provision of this technology in adult and diabetes in pregnancy services within Newcastle Hospitals.
There will be brief presentations with case studies and patient experience testimonies. There will be plenty of time for discussion so that you share your ideas.
