The STOPP tool has been designed to inform clinical decision making around safe transfer (staffing and equipment) of children and young people from referring units for specialist or ongoing care.
A similar tool has been adopted by other regional teams in UK and has been in use over the last few years.
The tool is designed to complement and work alongside pre-existing referral/transfer processes and is not intended to replace these.
