Hearing aid repair service
We have replaced the walk-in hearing aid repair service with a booked repair service. Unfortunately, we are unable to see anyone who attends without a pre-booked appointment.
Booked hearing aid repairs are available at the following locations:
- Berwick – Union Brae
- Corbridge
- Cramlington
- Freeman Hospital
- Morpeth
- North Tyneside General Hospital
Hearing aids that need repairing can be put into an envelope and:
- Dropped into the box in the audiology waiting area at the Freeman Hospital.
OR
- Posted to us by registered post.
When packaging your hearing aids for repair:
- Put your full name and address on the packaging you put your hearing aids in.
- Include a note with a brief description of the problem with your hearing aids.
- Make sure everything is sealed to prevent any items being lost.
If you are posting your hearing aids back to us, please make sure the postage is sufficient to cover costs.
We will repair or replace your hearing aid(s) and return them back to you by registered post.
Hearing aid batteries, spare tubing and hearing aid repairs
The hearing aid repairs service can help with hearing aid batteries, spare tubing and hearing aid repairs.

Due to high levels of staff absence there is currently a delay with processing these online requests. Due to high call volumes please do not follow up your online request by telephoning the Audiology department. Thank you for your patience whilst process your request. We will get it to you as soon as possible. If you need batteries urgently please put in a request for batteries only. Thank you.
You will be sent one year supply of batteries and can request more the following year. Any requests prior to this time will not be processed. For any other queries please contact us on:

If you are an adult hearing aid user, please ring for an appointment to attend one of our booked repairs sessions.
We request that repairs of children’s hearing aids are done via an appointment, these can be booked by contacting the department.
