Newcastle’s acne service have been shortlisted for Team of the Year in The British Dermatological Nursing Group (BDNG) awards in collaboration with the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD).
This prestigious award celebrates outstanding teamwork, dedication to patient-centred care, and innovative practice within dermatological nursing.
The Newcastle acne service was established in 2023 in response to national guidance to deliver a patient-centred service to deliver improved care.
Since launching, the team have significantly reduced waiting times, meaning patients can access treatment sooner. The team have been able to see more patients while still delivering high-quality, personalised care.
Jacqueline Langston, trainee advanced clinical practitioner for chronic skin disease said: “From day one, this has been a truly collaborative effort. We started with just the two of us and as our success grew, we have added even more expertise, strengthening the support we can offer patients
“Every member of the team plays a vital role in shaping this service, and together we’ve created a clinic that not only meets national standards but genuinely improves patient care.
“Seeing the difference we are making in people’s lives is what drives us to keep improving.”
The team have been recognised for their exceptional collaboration, innovation in clinical practice, and commitment to delivering high-quality dermatology care. The service has demonstrated measurable improvements in patient outcomes, professional development, and teamwork.

The winner of ‘Team of the Year’ will be presented at the BDNG Awards tomorrow (16 May) in Belfast
