Ward 52 is a medical ward that cares for adult patients with respiratory (lung and breathing) problems including asthma, chronic obstructive airways disease (COPD) and cystic fibrosis.
We receive patients who have been admitted from the assessment suite, the chest clinic. We also provide step down care for patients from the critical care unit and the high dependency unit.
The staff on Ward 52 also provide specialist palliative care for people with lung cancer and some forms of work related lung disease.

Ward 52 is on level 6 of Leazes Wing at the RVI.
