Examples may include:
- Significant signs of premature labour
- Membranes rupturing (waters breaking) before 37+0
- A significant amount of fresh red blood coming from the vagina that requires more observation
- A placenta praevia (a placenta that covers the cervix) in the late stages of pregnancy
- Significantly raised blood pressure that requires medication to control it
You will be offered a single cubicle if you need one for a medical reason. These cubicles cannot be paid for. There are toilets attached to the larger bays as well as on the corridor. There are two showers available at all times. You will come to Ward 41 if you need to be seen for day care as part of your ongoing plan of care.
Breakfast
On Ward 41, you can choose to have breakfast in the day room.
A support worker is available during breakfast. Breakfast is available from 8.15am – 10.15am. You can help yourself to breakfast before 7.30am. Staff handover takes place 7.30am – 8am, so assistance may be limited during this time.
If you are not able to come to the day room, staff will bring breakfast to your bedside.
Breakfast choices include toast, cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt, and a range of drinks.
