Ward 40 cares for women with a range of gynaecological conditions. In addition to the 22 inpatient beds on the ward, there are a further seven beds in our day unit.
You may be referred directly to Ward 40 at any time by your GP. You may also be referred from our emergency department (A&E) or minor injuries unit to our specialist gynaecological emergency admission Unit, also located on Ward 40.

Ward 40 is situated on level four of Leazes Wing at the RVI.
