Ward 7 at the Great North Children’s hospital is a regional centre for children who need haemodialysis.
The ward also provides other day-case investigations and treatments for long-term renal conditions, such as plasmapheresis.
Play facilities
Our dialysis patients are kept entertained by our nursery nurse. Patients of school age also have lessons with teachers from the hospital school The Bridges, with teachers from both The Bridges and the patient’s own school liaising to ensure the child is working on the same subjects and topics in both schools.
Location of ward
Ward 7 is on level three of the Great North Children’s Hospital, in the New Victoria Wing at the RVI.
