Ward 4 at the Freeman Hospital provides care for people requiring treatment for a range of conditions and have come in for surgery eg. colorectal. hepato-pancreato-biliary, orthopaedic or vascular.
The patients are admitted on the day of their surgery to the ward, however after surgery they will return to a different ward for their post-operative care.
Things you need to know
- Any test results will be forwarded to your consultant and GP for further management of your care if needed.
- If you need to find where a patient has been moved following their surgery, please speak to a member of staff
- Please do not bring fresh flowers onto the ward. This is to help with infection control.

Ward 4 is on level three of main ward block at the Freeman Hospital.
