Mr Robert Thomas is a consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.
Mr Thomas treats and performs surgery on patients with benign and malignant breast diseases diagnosed through the one-stop breast clinic and breast screening. He provides reconstructive surgery following mastectomy and contributes to the paediatric breast service.
Mr Thomas’ particular clinical interests are using advanced oncoplastic surgical techniques to treat breast cancer. He undertook a reconstructive and oncoplastic fellowship in Glasgow where he has developed further expertise in revisional breast implant surgery.
His non-clinical interests involve surgical training, service development and has organised national meetings in breast cancer education.
