Dr Foo is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Sub-specialist in Maternal- Fetal Medicine. She is the Head of Fetal Medicine at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Vice-Chair of the North East and North Cumbria Fetal Medicine Group.
She completed her post-graduate training in London and sub-specialty training in Newcastle. She was awarded a PhD (Imperial College London) for work on maternal cardiovascular health, and a BSc (Hons) in Human Molecular Genetics for research into congenital cardiac disease. She has published extensively in the research arena of women’s health.
Her current clinical interests are in fetal neurological disorders; she holds a Diploma in Prenatal Neuroimaging (Osaka, Japan) and established the regional Fetal Neurology service. She also is part of the invasive placental service and offers specialist care for patients affected by this. She maintains a keen interest in medical education and is on the Education Task Force for ISUOG.
