She undertook her speciality training in the North East of England and completed subspeciality training here in Newcastle.
Her clinical interests including the management of complex and high-risk pregnancies, with particular interest in multiple pregnancy. She leads the fetal renal anomaly service, providing prenatal diagnosis and counselling for families affected by congenital renal conditions with multidisciplinary coordination.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Parnell is actively involved in medical education and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. She is currently regional ultrasound coordinator for obstetric scan training for resident doctors, and regularly lectures at Teesside University.
