Dr Tafesh graduated from Newcastle University in 2016 and completed his haematology training in the North East. He was appointed consultant haematologist in 2025.
Dr Tafesh is based in the Newcastle Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre at the RVI and looks after people with bleeding disorders, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) and pulmonary embolism. In addition, he delivers TTP education and outreach to hospitals throughout the North East and Cumbria.
He is a member of the UKHCDO inhibitor working party and BSH governance committee.
