Thank you for taking the time to read our strategic plan for 2025/26.
Our journey so far…
As the trust’s Board of Directors and leadership team we have committed to engaging with and listening to our staff and patients, while ensuring that we continue to provide high quality clinical care to patients and their families.
Our previous strategy ended in 2024 and this document provides a bridge to our new strategic approach and longer-term strategy.
This interim strategic plan sets out how we will continue to build, strengthen and regain our position as one of the UK’s top trusts, providing services for our patients which match the best in the world. It focuses on our goals and ambitions for the next 12 months and sets out the approach we will follow to continue our improvement.
There is still more to be done to stabilise the organisation before we can focus on the longer term, but to begin this process throughout 2025/2026 we will continue to engage widely as we develop a new 5-year strategy where we can begin to lift our sights and plan ambitiously for the future. This will set out a clear strategic direction for the longer term as we create an organisation which will serve our patients and staff well for the next decade and beyond.
We do this work in the context of what matters the most to us – providing the best care for our patients and significantly improving the experience that our staff have at work.
This drives our considerations and decision making, and we hope that you can see the fruits of our collective work beginning to emerge.
We would like to thank every member of the team at Newcastle Hospitals for their hard work, support and compassion as we continue our journey.
