Nini joined Newcastle Hospitals as an associate non executive director in 2025. She qualified as a medical doctor 20 years ago from Imperial College, London.
Nini brings experience from her career working within health and social care clinically and at local, regional and national levels within commissioning, policy and health regulation.
Nini is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and has spent time working at the Department of Health and Social Care, on the Mental Health Bill, and in commissioning at a local authority and primary care trust. Prior to joining Newcastle Hospitals, Nini led the development of regulation of mental health service providers as deputy director of policy at the Care Quality Commission.
Nini has a passion for ensuring all people get fair access to health services and experience safe care with high-quality outcomes.
She lives in Newcastle with her husband and three boys and can often be found shouting on the side lines of a muddy rugby pitch cheering on her children.
