Colleagues from across Newcastle Hospitals were celebrated for their dedication and commitment at the Trust’s latest Long Service Awards event.
Held every quarter, the special event recognises staff who have reached milestones of 25, 35 and 45 years of service. At the latest ceremony, those attending represented an impressive combined total of more than 480 years of service, reflecting decades of commitment to patients and colleagues.

Guests were taken on a journey through the history of healthcare in Newcastle, highlighting how their contributions have helped build on generations of outstanding care for patients and communities across the city. Each member of staff received a commemorative certificate and long service pin badge from Martin Wilson, Director of Great North Healthcare Alliance and Strategy, at Newcastle Hospitals.
Martin said: “It was a real privilege to meet so many colleagues and hear their stories. Across our Trust there are people working in a huge variety of roles, each making a difference to patients, families and colleagues every single day.
“The dedication shown by those celebrating these incredible milestones is something we should all be proud of. Their commitment, compassion and professionalism have helped shape the Trust we are today, and I would like to thank them for their outstanding contribution.”
The event provided an opportunity to recognise the lasting impact staff have made throughout their careers and celebrate the difference they continue to make every day.
