Mr Emmanuel was appointed as a consultant urological surgeon and andrologist in 2024 (Freeman Hospital & Newcastle Fertility Centre @ LiFE). He is fellowship trained and has a highly specialised practice focused on benign andrology, male infertility and urethral stricture disease with particular expertise in microsurgery and genito-urethral reconstruction.
Mr Emmanuel trained at St George’s University of London, where he was awarded a first-class Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biomedical Sciences and completed his degree in Medicine (MBBS) in 2011. He undertook a period of full-time research studying the molecular genetics of penile cancer at the Barts Cancer Institute, Barts and the London School of Medicine & Dentistry and was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD [Res]) in 2017.
Mr Emmanuel completed his specialist urological training in 2023 before undertaking a senior andrology fellowship and a locum consultant post at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London which included multiple micro-fellowships at University College London Hospitals, Urokul (Pune, India), SIUT (Karachi, Pakistan) and Russells Hall Hospital (Dudley, West Midlands) between 2023 – 2024.
Mr Emmanuel has a strong academic and research background with multiple awards, presentations (national & international), publications and book chapters in the field of urology especially andrology and has also contributed to international guidelines for the European Association of Urology. He was appointed as an honorary senior clinical lecturer at Newcastle University School of Medicine in 2025.
Mr Emmanuel is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching including cadaveric teaching at the state-of-the-art Newcastle Surgical Training Centre as well as delivering regional teaching in benign andrology, male infertility and genito-urethral reconstruction.
