Dr Sophie Whiteway graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2015, before undertaking her postgraduate Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in the North East.
Sophie is a passionate trainer, winning the North East Trainee Trainer Of The Year Award in 2023. She is heavily involved in both postgraduate and undergraduate teaching in the region
Sophie manages a wide range of gynaecological conditions. She has special interests in gynaecological cancer, vulval care and colposcopy. She is a national council member for the British Society of the Study of Vulval Disease (BSSVD) and jointly runs the regional Specialist Vulval Clinic
