Our specialist team of consultants, nurses, podiatrists and dieticians will support you, if you are living with diabetes.
We provide care for patients with:
- Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3c diabetes
- Maturity onset diabetes of the young (MODY)
- Diabetes in pregnancy
- Diabetes in renal patients.
We have specialist services for diabetes in young adults, type 3c diabetes and diabetes in pregnancy (not gestational).
Our clinic team provides phlebotomy, monitoring and other screening. We have a podiatry service in the centre which is for diabetes patients within Newcastle.
We can also support with remote care if you live far away or unable to come to a face-to-face appointment.
Education
We provide specialist education for patients with diabetes this includes:
- DESMOND
- Dose adjustment for normal eating (DAFNE)
- Insulin pump education
- Diabetes sensors and other technology and various education
- Retinal screening for diabetes patients.
We also support Newcastle GP practices with diabetes services/education and support care homes with our new structured education.
