Ward 42 is our acute stroke ward. We care for patients who are known or suspected to have suffered a stroke.
We aim to ensure that all patients that are referred to us are assessed by a nurse specialist or a doctor within 24 hours of the onset of a suspected stroke.
You will have a CT scan and undergo various other investigations as soon as possible following admission.

Ward 42 is on level four of the Leazes Wing at the RVI.
