Matron Hloni Mpofu

Our external partner NHS North East and Yorkshire Leadership Academy (NEYLA) offers a range of national leadership programmes.

These are the first set of national professional leadership programmes to combine successful leadership strategies from international healthcare, private sector organisations and academic expert content.

They are available for everyone working in health and NHS funded care and there are programmes for
different levels of leaders.

Edward Jenner Programme

If you are aspiring towards your first leadership or management role in the next 1-2 years the this programme could be your first port of call.

It will help if you are looking to build a strong foundation of leadership skills that can help enhance your confidence and competence in your role.

The programme has been designed to offer flexibility as a suite of short online courses starting with an introductory module and then split into two levels exploring:

  • What leadership means
  • The importance of relationships in leadership
  • How to lead your team and beyond
  • How you can manage staff as a leader

This is free for those working in the NHS.

Mary Seacole Programme

This extremely popular, recently refreshed leadership development programme designed in partnership with global experts is delivered by experienced facilitators to develop your knowledge and skills in leadership and management.

The course is 6 months long with 100 hours of online study (5 hours per week). There will also be 3
