We run a wide range of clinics to assess and investigate infectious diseases.
We look after patients who have:
- Infectious acquired in the UK
- Infectious acquired overseas and in the tropics
- Viral illnesses
- Bacterial illnesses
We are the region’s principle provider for patients with HIV and AIDS. In addition, we have a specialist nurse in HIV and AIDS to look after children and give support and advice to patients and carers.
We also have a high-level isolation unit to care for patients with high consequence infectious diseases (HCID) such as Ebola.
How can I be referred into the service?
You can be referred into the service by your GP or by another hospital.
We work very closely with national research agencies such as the Medical Research Centre Network Clinical Trials to help develop medication for complex conditions.
